January:

  • Blood donation drive.

February:

  • Feb 3: Bone marrow donation drive.
  • Feb 3: Movie screening “Aye Zindagi” promoting organ donation. This was followed by patient and families’ testimonials and a meet-and-greet with the writer and director of the movie, Dr. Anirban Basu.

March:

  • March 3: Trust and protecting assets: Arvest bank.
  • March 30: AAPI-AR Women Executives (AWE) meeting: Leadership event – Book club.

April:

  • April 25: Talk with Chelsea Wakefield: “Let’s Talk My Love.”

May:

  • 9th May: “Dil ki Baatein”: A talk on heart health for desis, by Dr. Srini Vengala. Community and member event.
  • 30th May: “Speak to Me, My Child, I Am Listening” – Nuances of communication between parents and children. A panel discussion facilitated by Nishita Patel, social worker. Member event.

June:

  • June 13: Multifamily Investment by Ignite Investments, Dallas. Member event.
  • June 15: Workshop for couples by Dr. Chelsea Wakefield. Exclusive member event.
  • June 18: Economic outlook by Simmons Bank.
  • June 20: “The Science of Stress” – Mindfulness class by Dr. Tiffany Huitt. Community and member event.
  • June 22: AWE book club (Atomic Habits) – Breakfast.
  • June 23: Mentorship event – Panel discussion about college prep for the children. Pathway to college – “Wows and Woes” at Lisa Academy.

July:

  • 13th July: Walk with a Doc at UAMS.
  • 16th July: Welcome-Orientation for new Indian American physicians at Mauj, with a talk on financial health planning.
  • 21st July: Health fair for the community at GSA.

August:

  • 1st August: Dil se Dil ki Baatein continued.
  • Election weeks.

September:

  • September 5: Interfaith – Love thy neighbor event – AAPI-AR participated to present an Indian perspective.
  • September 12: Dil se chapter next – Panel discussion and heart-healthy dinner.
  • September 15: 2nd Naveen Kumar Annual AAPI-AR Cricket Tournament.
  • September 28: The first AAPI Arkansas Jimmy George Volleyball Tournament.

October:

  • 19th October: Annual event.
  • 29th October: AWEc meeting – Book club.

November:

  • November 20th: “I Am Enough” – A discussion on being single.
  • “Narmal Hai” dramedy to be done in other community events likely through December and January 2025.

Additionally:

  • We presented twelve Inner Engineering program scholarships: A transformative online program, Inner Engineering offers tools to take charge of your body, mind, emotions, and energies. It helps establish a foundation of health, exuberance, and a chemistry of blissfulness within, leading to a joyful, fulfilling life.
  • Three info-letters on sustainable living were curated by the AAPI-AR committee SLATE (Sustainable Living AAPI-AR Task Force).
